We have three dogs and one cat. The cat's name is Van Gogh. We got him as a baby with his sister Kiki Pie in 1988. Kiki Pie died three years ago, but her brother is still in great shape. The dogs love him and are always licking his face, which he tolerates to an amazing degree. He had a scary moment this past year when he got stuck in the automatic garage opener. Our first dog was Cake in 1994. She is black long-haired Chihuahua. Her original name was Cupcake because she has a white stripe on her belly like a Hostess Cupcake. She is a very sweet-natured but strong and wise leader for the group. She is Robert's dog in the sense that she pretty much stays close to him. Our next dog was Clo Clo, which is short for Clothilde. She is a Yorkshire terrier. She adores her sister Cake, and puts up with her showoff brother Papillion (who, by the way, is a little intimidated by her). Whenever a voice is raised in the house she begins to tremble. Everybody thinks she is irresistible. And then we come to the real character in the household: Papillon. His breed is called Papillion, so thus his name. We took a recent photo of him emerging from the bedcovers (see photo), so now his new name is "Papillon of Arabia." This dog just follows us around the house all day waiting for the next adventure. He chases birds, lizards, and his "ball" endlessly. He has to be the center of attention or he's not happy. Our other nickname for him is "Big Top Baby Boy." The favorite thing for the dogs is when they go to "Doggie Beach" in Bonita Springs. This is the big thrill they look forward to every week. They get to splash in the surf and meet other dogs etc.
